How to Enhance Business Value With On-time Delivery

When it comes to enhancing your business value, much of the focus is on finding ways to improve the production and planning phases. Companies often talk about job management, inventory, and allocating resources. However, enhancing your business value can also happen much later in the process, too. Ensuring that your business delivers items on time is vital, and working with an international logistics company can help you.
International Logistics Company

Transporting your items relies on many different factors, many of which are uncertain. For example, fuel prices, transportation obstacles, and even the best route can all change. Being able to respond to these changes is vital to help your company deliver goods on time. This can ultimately help your company present a better image to your customers. The network of transportation can vary greatly, which can make it difficult to find the right logistics strategy.
You might be wondering how you can add business value by ensuring goods are delivered on time. Working with the best cargo shipping companies can help ensure that your goods reach your customers in a timely manner.
Optimizing Costs
While trucking companies in Illinois may involve an initial cost, you will often find that they can give you a better value overall. Logistics companies have managers and planners who are experienced in the many variables that can change during the transport of goods. These managers and planners can help optimize the available resources to ensure that your company’s goods will be delivered efficiently.
Even though the variables in transportation are constantly changing, an experienced international logistics company has learned from the past what the patterns look like.

How to Make Regulatory Compliance Less Painful

When it comes to hot shot trucking companies, some do an okay job while others excel. For the hot shot carriers in the latter category, there are several reasons why. For one thing, these companies have a staff with experience and extensive training. They also offer a broad range of hot shot trucking services. Then there’s the fact that they’re trustworthy because they comply with current regulations.
Hot Shot and LTL Loads on the Rise
The best hot shot trucking companies know that to stay in operation, they must adhere to all applicable laws. Staying compliant also improves their reputation since both potential and existing customers don’t have to worry about potential issues that could negatively affect their service requirements.
Throughout the history of hot shot carriers, the regulations they must abide by today are stricter than ever before. Without having a strategic plan in place, that can create a tremendous amount of stress. The more pressure that hot shot trucking companies experience, the greater the chance of them compromising on quality. In other words, with a plan in place, the best companies don’t feel a lot of stress to stay compliant. As a result, the services they provide don’t waiver.
Top-rated companies understand what it takes to remain compliant and stress-free. The following are some of the steps they take to run a legitimate business that continues to provide customers with stellar hot shot trucking services.

Applicable Regulations, Including HOS

Within the trucking industry, Regulators set HOS or “Hours of Service.” Along with that are regulations for intrastate commerce, fleet quality, and documentation in the form of RODS or Record of Duty Status. Hot shot carriers have the responsibility to understand and adhere to all applicable regulations such as these.
As an example, following the rules of HOS eliminates a great deal of stress. These regulations applies to all commercial for hire carriers, inluding hot shot trucking companies.. With knowledge of provincial, state and federal laws, there’s no need for these organizations to feel any pressure from the government.

What's New for Canadian Truck Drivers in 2019?

There is a list of a few new trucking laws that have occurred this past year. These new changes are coming into effect mainly because of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash that happened last year that left 16 dead after a Junior Hockey Team’s bus collided with a semi-truck. This list of changes is small, but necessary for freight trucking companies moving forward.

The ELD Mandate

An ELD is an electronic logging device that is used to electronically record a driver’s Record of Duty Status (RODS). This form of technology replaces the paper logbooks that drivers originally used to record their compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.

Fleets that have not already switched to that system have until June 2021 to ensure compliance with these published specifications. The ELD rule is not reinventing the way the logging of Hours of Service works. Most drivers and fleets are already using an automatic onboard recording device (AOBRD) to reduce paperwork for freight trucking companies. This automatically records the driver’s duty status and any changes made to that status, along with the amount of time they operate the vehicle.

If law enforcement needs to see a driver’s status, the driver must immediately present the required AOBRD information for the current day, plus the last seven days in operation.

New Training

Canada is now looking to pass a new training course that requires minimum entry-level semi-truck driver standards to be put in place. The new training for international freight forwarders is very important for Canadian truck drivers to undergo. This is why it is being placed under the National Safety Code to recognize the importance of training that truck drivers must go through.

A Checklist Every Shipper Needs Prior to Loading

A checklist can be an essential tool that a shipping company uses regularly. The destination needs to be listed, as well as the receiver’s requirements, the time of arrival provided, so no problems take place. This can save both the cargo shipping companies and the receiver a ton of time in the process.

international freight forwarders

1. Determine Geographical Location
Before the shipment leaves the shipper’s location, the recipient should be provided with a geographical location for where the load is being shipped off to.
2. Ensure All Receiver’s Requirements Are Met
If an international shipping company is arranging transportation, the shipper will need to discuss the receiver’s requirements before the shipment leaves.
3. Estimated Time of Arrival
A specific delivery time must be discussed between the shipper and receiver ahead of the delivery. Not only do their expectations need to be talked about, but so do the carriers.
4. Provide Accurate Records
Depending on the type of products you are shipping, Cargo shipping companies must provide accurate records of how products were handled before loading.
5. Appointment Scheduled
An appointment should be scheduled on the day of arrival to be more efficient. This allows for seamless delivery.
6. Default Term Established
The default term on any shipment is freight on board (FOB) when using international cargo shipping. Unless another term of sale is specified, and then agreed to in writing by both the shipping and receiving companies, this name will be used.
7. Inspection
An inspection maybe required in the event of a possible claim. Inspections should be documented and the bills of lading must be signed noting any reason for a possible claim. Continue reading for more information.

The Future of Sustainable Freight Hauling in Canada

Looking for more sustainable ways to ship commercial goods across the world has been on everyone’s radar over the past years. With the rising concern about climate change, more and more freight trucking companies are looking for environmentally-friendly alternatives.
Freight Services
What Does Sustainable Freight Hauling Mean?
Being a sustainable business means you’re aware of your environmental impact and are trying to change the way your company runs itself. A lot of freight companies are trying to shift their businesses to run in a more energy-efficient way. This can be by using technologies to improve the efficiency of the products needing to be shipped out and their supply chains. Freight companies in NJ have been trying to figure a way of increasing productivity instead of shipping out half-empty containers of goods. This will ultimately allow them to have an edge over other shipping companies.
With sustainable freight, the end result doesn’t have to begin with the business. Every single person contributes to the drastic need for food, and consumer goods to reach us faster than ever before. If all of us began to buy more products locally and didn’t need to rely heavily on freight services like trucks.
Of course, this is a huge change that can only be accomplished if everyone comes together to complete this task in order to stop the impending doom that climate change possesses.

Step Deck Trucking Vs. Lowboy Trucking

Some companies, like MGA International Logistics, offer various options that will not only help reduce damage to your load but will also improve the safety of your driver and everyone else on the road. Two of these options includes step deck trucking and lowboy trucking. Let’s take a look at each option and when you should consider lowboy trucking or step deck trucking companies for your transportation needs.

Step Deck Trucking Services

Step deck trucking services use a type of flatbed trailer with a small step that is located near its front. You will want to utilize this trailer if hauling large and heavy loads. However, it is most often used for hauling items that are tall and will not fit on regular flatbed trailers. This type of trailer is often used for large pieces of equipment such as farming or construction vehicles. There are many features, such as large ramps, that makes the loading and unloading process as simple as possible on these trailers.
Lowboy Trucking Services
Lowboy trucking services are similar to step deck trucking services because they make it easy to haul heavy and large pieces of equipment. The trailers used for this type of trucking are low, making the loading and unloading process even easier than step deck trucking. This type of trucking is ideal if the piece of equipment can move on its own. With its low design, the trucks can more easily drive up and drive off the trailers, saving much time and energy. Some of these trailers can also expand, making it easy to move long and heavy machines as well. You’ll often see machinery such as excavators, dozers, and compactors on these trailers.
